Chronic Hives or worse

Has anyone been told they have chronic hives and itching to then be told later it’s something way worse than they though

  1. ,
Thanks so much for reaching out.
In many chronic hives cases, the triggers and causes are unknown. However, hives can be a symptom of numerous other conditions. Environmental factors, medications or auto-immune conditions (just to name a few) may all contribute to chronic hives. Hopefully others will chime in here with their personal experiences.
In the meantime, we always recommend bringing any concerns to your healthcare provider's attention.

  2. I don't know that they turn into anything else. Mine started at the same time as various other conditions. I develeloped alongside Hypothyroidism, Autoimmune disease Lupus, Sjrogrens, Psoriatic arthritis. A pituitary tumor. And they have re occurred. They can occur alongside thyroid conditions, and autoimmune conditions. I am allergic to some things. But no severely. However my Tryptase and IgE antibodies serum level are both really high that can be a sign of MCAS.

Thank you for chiming in and sharing your experience.
It sounds like you are juggling quite a bit.
Although chronic hives often stem from unknown causes, they are frequently linked to auto-immune conditions or infections.
      Surprisingly, chronic hives are rarely
caused by food allergies (unlike acute hives).
