Swelling of hands and feet

My 20 year old son has recently been diagnosed with chronic hives. It wasn’t as easy diagnosis as it took about 4 ER visits, tons of blood work, multiple Dr’s and allergist. It seems it may have stemmed from mono initially and I’m worried it may be stressed induced.
This is all new to us and I’m just looking for advice and stories that may help.
He’s been on antihistamines and steroid but is still having issues. The main thing is horrible swelling of hands and feet. Has anyone else had these symptoms?

I'm sorry to hear how difficult it has been for your son.
Diagnosing Chronic Hives can be quite challenging, for most it can take many weeks to a few years to get a proper diagnosis.
This is because many other conditions cause hives and doctors needs to rule out any other causes of one's symptoms.

One of the most common symptoms of chronic hives is swelling/itching in the hands and feet
As we wait for others to chime in with their personal experiences, I thought I'd share this article that may provide some help: https://chronic-hives.com/stages
