Treatment that worked for me

I had 5 months of chronic hives back in 2021, wish this page had have been around!! After months of hives literally everywhere and facial swelling, I finally got into see a specialist. I’d previously done a dose of steroids which was a small relief but nothing permanent. He got me onto 2x Zyrtec morning and night, plus an asthma drug called Montelukast (prescription). I decided to come off all after 4 months to see if I was better. After about 2 weeks of come down itching from stopping Zyrtec, fortunately no more hives, and (touch wood) have been clear of them since. I also did a lot in that period to get rid of stress from my life, as I think the cortisol played a part in kicking it off. Sending big thoughts to anyone fighting this nasty condition. Some of my loneliest nights were pre diagnosis when I had no idea how to help the hives. The itch and pain (esp ones in oesophagus) was both scary and awful. Don’t stop in your pursuit of answers.
