Advice

As someone who has dealt with hives for a couple of years. I have found these things still work well for me and just wanted to share them. I am well aware that these may not work for everyone, but just wanted to put my thoughts out there.

Anti-itch lotion is a savior!!! You can put it on yourself a few times a day, and it is steriod free!

Find activities that help you reduce stress. Having chronic hives has been life changing for me in someways in a good way. I spend less time on my phone now and do other things like reading, walking and listening to podcasts, and got back into building legos. My previous job was super stressful, and now I have a different job that is way less stressful and better for me mentally.

Last weird bit. Getting your feet super cold helps with getting cool blood flow into your upper body. (Not good advice for those with hives that come from cooler temperatures).

Try to avoid hot showers before bed. Big one I occasionally mess up sometimes.

  2. I've noticed that my skin gets oily right before a break out. Unscented sensitive soap and a shower with my antihistamines helps so much also if anti itch doesn't work by itself I add lidocaine cream (usually for pain) and I don't know if it works or they mix in a cool way but it's the only way I can use cream.

It sounds like you've found a few things that are helping provide some relief.
What antihistamines do you find helpful in the shower?
